Henkel AG, a German maker of home-care products and toiletries, said Wednesday first-quarter sales rose 6.2 percent as the company benefited from increased demand across all of its businesses.
Sales rose to euro3.2 billion (US$4.4 billion), the company said in a statement. The company did not provide a comparative figure. Operating profit rose 9.2 percent to euro323 million (US$440.5 million).
"Henkel once again intends to grow faster than its markets," the company said.
Henkel shares gained 3 percent to euro106.2 (US$11.85) in Frankfurt.
