Ashton names seven uncapped players and Wilkinson in England squad

Jason Robinson, who will retire after the World Cup, regained the England captaincy for the two-test tour of South Africa starting later this month.
England coach Brian Ashton named seven rookies and star flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson in a 30-man squad for the matches in Bloemfontein on May 26 and Pretoria on June 2.
Other experienced players named Tuesday include Mark Regan, Andy Gomarsall and Ben Cohen, who were all part of England's 2003 World Cup-winning team.
Wilkinson was named despite intermittent injuries over the past four months, while former captain Pat Sanderson and rugby league convert Andy Farrell also made the squad.
But players from London Wasps, Leicester Tigers and Bath were not considered because of their participation in European finals on May 19 and 20.
Those include Wasps' Phil Vickery, Joe Worsley and Josh Lewsey; Leicester's Martin Corry, Julian White, Lewis Moody and Harry Ellis; and Bath's Danny Grewcock and Steve Borthwick.
Perry Freshwater was also not considered because of commitments to club Perpignan, while eight players are injured.
Ashton named seven uncapped players _ props Nick Wood and Darren Crompton, backrower Peter Buxton, locks Roy Winters and Dean Schofield, hooker Matt Cairns and fullback Mike Brown.
"It's going to be an enormous challenge for these players," Ashton said. "We are under no illusions _ it is going to be an incredibly tough 2 1/2 weeks, but I don't expect any of the players or management to back down from that challenge."
Robinson said he was delighted to resume the England captaincy he held from 2004-05.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my previous spell as captain and am looking forward to the trip as I have never played there before," Robinson said.
The 32-year-old Robinson retired from club rugby on April 13, but has kept himself available for World Cup selection. He first retired from international rugby in September 2005, but was persuaded to make a comeback for this season's Six Nations. Robinson switched from rugby league in 2000.
