Atlas win demotes Queretaro in Mexican soccer

Atlas defeated Queretaro 2-0 on goals by Uruguayan Nicolas Olivera _ sealing Queretaro's demotion from the top division _ and Toluca beat Monterrey 1-0 in Mexican Clausura soccer on Sunday.
Olivera scored in the fifth and 17th minutes to end Queretaro's time in the top division after just one season. It's the sixth time in Queretaro's history it has been demoted.
Ivan Castillejos scored in the 30th minute for Toluca's home win over Monterrey.
Santos defeated Cruz Azul 2-0 thanks to second-half goals by Oribe Peralta and Agustin Herrera.
In Saturday play, Juan Pablo Garcia scored as Tigres drew Pumas 1-1 to advance to the playoffs.
Garcia's goal came in the 65th on a cross by Javier Savedra, and Ailton Da Silva scored for a Pumas team that ended the season with nine consecutive winless games and elimination from the playoffs.
The Jaguares of Chiapas defeated Chivas 1-0, but Chivas' Omar Bravo became the scoring champion of the Clausura with 11 goals.
Bravo became the first scoring champion in 45 years for Chivas. The Mexican striker beat Argentine Javier Campora of Jaguares, who scored 10 goals.
Bravo also became the first Mexican to win the title since 2001, when Jared Borgetti won it.
Also, in Azteca Stadium, Juan Carlos Cacho scored twice as Pachuca defeated Atlante 4-1 and finished the overall leaders with 39 points, eight more than second-played Chivas. America was third with 30.
Morelia surprised America 2-1, and Veracruz drew Necaxa 1-1.
