Di Luca wins ProTour's classic Liege-Bastogne-Liege

Danilo Di Luca of Italy won the Liege-Bastogne-Liege on Sunday.
The Italian cyclist broke away from the pack with 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) to go in the 262-kilometer (161.8-mile) ProTour classic to finish in 6 hours, 36 minutes, 25 seconds through the Ardennes hills.
It was Di Luca's first victory in the classic that completes pro-cycling's spring season.
Alejandro Valverde of Spain came second and Frank Schleck of Luxembourg took third.
Italian riders Paolo Bettini and Davide Rebellin finished fourth and fifth.
Four riders _ Jan Kuyckx, Remy Di Gregorio, Vasil Kiryienka and Unai Etxebarria _ broke away after only seven kilometers (4.3 miles).
Over the next 200 kilometers (124 miles), the quartet led by up to 18 minutes over the rest of the field.
But the following pack caught the four riders 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the finish to set the stage for a series of breaks, before Di Luca beat Schleck in a final sprint to the line.
