Indonesian shares end slightly lower on falls in Telkom, Antam

Indonesia's key share index ended slightly lower Thursday dragged down by falls in heavyweight Telkom and nickel miner Antam.
The Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite index closed 0.647 points or 0.03 percent lower at 1,930.397, but up from its intraday low of 1,911.138.
Traders said foreign bargain buying lifted the main index from its low and underlying sentiment for Indonesian shares remains positive amid hopes for an improved economy in 2007.
But heavyweight Telkom slipped 1.9 percent after ADRs dropped in NY, while nickel miner Antam slid 1.6 percent on profit taking.
The lead gainer was the country's largest bank by assets, Bank Mandiri, which climbed 4.6 percent on news its non-performing loans ratio at end-March fell to 4.7 percent from last year's 15 percent.
The local currency, the rupiah, also ended lower as the U.S. dollar closed at 9,110 rupiah, up from Wednesday's rate of 9,085 rupiah.
