Hiroyasu Izumi named as new Japan ambassador to Taiwan

Izumi previously served in US, China, Bangladesh

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) —Izumi was appointed as Japan's ambassador Taiwan on Thursday (Oct. 24) and is set to take office on Nov. 1, according to a press release from the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, CNA reported.

Izumi previously served as Japan’s minister to the U.S. and China and more recently as the ambassador to Bangladesh, according to the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh’s website.
