Canada replaces injured forward in RWC squad

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Utility forward Justin Blanchet was withdrawn injured from Canada's Rugby World Cup squad and replaced by lock Josh Larsen.

Blanchet suffered an unspecified injury in a ruck and left the field early in the 20-15 loss to the United States last Saturday in Vancouver, both teams' last warmup test.

Blanchet was selected for his first World Cup. Larsen, with 12 caps, will be going to his first, instead.

Lock Kyle Baillie, also injured in the loss to the Americans, travelled with the team to Japan.

Canada opens its campaign on Sept. 26 against Italy in Fukuoka.
