French foreign minister visits Poland

French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy was expected in Warsaw on Monday to meet with his Polish counterpart and attend a conference on European integration, the Polish Foreign Ministry said.
During his one-day visit to the Polish capital, Douste-Blazy is to discuss issues of European and international concern with counterpart Anna Fotyga, the ministry said in a statement. It gave no further details.
Paris and Warsaw, allies within the EU, enjoy good relations. Tensions between them arose over Poland's support for the U.S.-led war in Iraq in 2003 _ a conflict France strongly opposed _ but have largely returned to normal.
