Gonzalez, Hollins looking to help Yomiuri

The Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Central League introduced former major leaguers Luis Gonzalez and Damon Hollins on Sunday.
The Giants finished in fourth place last season, 23-1/2 games behind the Chunichi Dragons and are hoping Gonzalez and Hollins will help the team contend in 2007.
"I'm hoping to earn a starting position so I can help the team with the pennant," said Gonzalez, who batted .242 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in 61 games for the Colorado Rockies last season.
The 27-year-old Gonzalez once went 107 games, including 90 starts, without making an error at second base _ 16 games shy of Ryne Sandberg's record. Gonzalez's streak was snapped on April 22.
Gonzalez has played every infield position in the majors, plus both corner outfield spots.
Outfielder Hollins became a free agent when the Tampa Bay Devil Rays declined to offer him a contract for the 2007 season.
The 32-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Devil Rays and batted .228 with 20 doubles and 15 homers in 121 games in 2006.
