Krog scores winner, Rangers win 3-1 to hand Flyers 9th straight loss

Jason Krog's tie-breaking goal 3:49 into the third period gave the New York Rangers a 2-1 win over Philadelphia on Saturday, sending the Flyers to their ninth straight loss.
Jaromir Jagr also scored for the Rangers, who had dropped four of their previous five games.
Joni Pitkanen scored for the Flyers, who extended their franchise-record home losing streak to 10 games. They have won a league-low three home games, and have not won at home since Nov. 24 when they beat Columbus, 3-2, in former Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock's debut with the Blue Jackets.
Krog's second goal of the season came during a scramble in front of the net.
New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 17 saves for his 20th win.
Philadelphia's Robert Esche, who made his first start in goal since a 6-2 loss at Washington on Jan. 9, had 33 saves. He was especially sharp in the first period when he stopped all 17 Ranger shots and thwarted the Rangers' five power plays.

At Ottawa, Ray Emery made 29 saves, and Patrick Eaves and Chris Neil scored third-period goals to help Ottawa get its seventh victory in eight games.
Emery was making his seventh straight start. He had his fourth shutout of the season a week earlier in a 3-0 victory in Boston.
Jason Spezza, back in the lineup after missing 14 games because of a knee injury, assisted on Eaves' goal at 2:17 of the third. Neil made it 2-0 at 7:48.
Glen Murray scored 56 seconds later, ending Emery's shutout streak at 135 minutes, 44 seconds. Antoine Vermette was awarded a short-handed goal with 45.1 seconds remaining after Boston's Marc Savard threw his stick to spoil the shot at an empty net.
Tim Thomas made 34 saves for the Bruins.
