Urios scores seven goals for Spain to qualify for worlds quarterfinals

Rolando Urios scored seven goals Saturday for defending champion Spain to beat Hungary 33-31 and advance to the handball world championship quarterfinals.
Germany, Poland, Iceland, France and Denmark also qualified on Saturday, while Olympic champion Croatia advanced on Thursday. The final spot is between Russia and Hungary and is decided Sunday.
Spain, which had previously lost to Denmark, improved to 3-1 in Group Two. Hungary lost despite eight goals from Ivo Diaz and is now 2-2.
Croatia beat the Czech Republic 31-29 and has won all four games to top Group Two. Blazenko Lackovic had nine goals for Croatia, while Filip Jicha and Jan Sobol each had eight for the Czechs (0-4).
Denmark beat Russia 26-24 to improve to 2-2 and advance. Soren Stryer scored six times and Danish keeper Kasper Hvidt stopped a penalty near the end.
Eduard Kokcharov had eight goals for four-time Olympic champion Russia.
Poland beat Tunisia 40-31 on Mateusz Jachlewski's eight goals to improve to 3-1 in Group One. Poland, which last reached the worlds quarterfinals in 1982 when it took bronze, can top the group by beating Slovenia on Sunday.
Slovenia, European silver medalists in 2003, lost 32-31 to Iceland and is out with a 1-3 record.
Logi Geirsson and Snorri Gudjonsson each tallied eight goals as Iceland made the final eight for the third consecutive worlds. Slovenia had 10 goals from Siarhei Rutenka.
Host Germany also improved to 3-1 after beating reigning European champion France 29-26 due to seven goals from Michael Kraus, who filled in the injured captain Markus Baur.
Nikola Karabatic scored seven times for France, who advanced with a 2-2 record.
