Oman beats Bahrain to advance to the final of the Gulf Cup

Oman will play the United Arab Emirates in the Gulf Cup final on Tuesday.
Oman beat Bahrain 1-0 on Badr Al Maimani's 54th-minute goal, while the UAE beat Saudi Arabia 1-0 on Ismail Matar's injury-time winner in Saturday's semifinals at the Mohammed bin Zayed stadium.
Al Maimani's header on a cross from Emad Al Hosani beat Bahrain goalkeeper Abdulkarim Abdulla to extend Oman's winning streak to four games.
Bahrain's best chance came when Abdulla Ismails' close-range shot hit the post in the 80th.
In the second game, Matar collected a pass from second-half substitute Subait Khater and shot low past Saudi Arabia goalkeeper Mohammed Khoujah.
The Saudis were tentative at the start before gradually becoming more attacking, but were unable to convert a couple of good scoring chances.
Neither the UAE or Oman have won the Gulf Cup. Oman lost to host Qatar on a penalty shootout in 2004 in its first and only final.
