Kachkar watches from stands as Marseille slumps to 2-0 loss at Le Mans

James Fanchone and Grafite scored Saturday for Le Mans to beat Marseille 2-0 in the French league on Saturday.
Fanchone scored in the 38th minute through the legs of teammate Grafite and passed unsighted Marseille goalkeeper Cedric Carasso after Marseille had failed to clear a corner.
Grafite sealed the win with a penalty kick in the 83rd. Marseille coach Albert Emon was sent to the stands soon after for heatedly arguing with the fourth official.
Canadian millionaire Jack Kachkar, who is expected to become Marseille's new owner by the end of February after current proprietor Robert Louis-Dreyfus accepted his offer, watched from the stands.
"This is a very exciting time for me," Kachkar said Saturday. "I'm a big Marseille fan."
Marseille dominated the first half, but failed to take numerous chances. Mamadou Niang went close in the 21st when he hit the post after running onto a pass from Franck Ribery.
Marseille's eighth loss of the season means it remains on 36 points from 22 rounds. Le Mans has 31.
In later matches Saturday, it is: Le Mans vs. Marseille; Lyon vs. Nice; Sedan vs. Monaco; Bordeaux vs. Lille; Nantes vs. Lorient; Toulouse vs. Troyes; Paris Saint-Germain vs. Sochaux; Rennes vs. Valenciennes. On Sunday, Auxerre hosts Nancy and Saint-Etienne play at Lens.
