French percussion quintet Symblema will be staging a concert at the Kaohsiung City Cultural Center Chi-shan Hall.

Japanese rock musician Gackt will be performing on February 7 and 8 at the Taipei County Government Multifunctional Hall 台北縣政府多功能集會堂 (No.161 Chung-Shan Rd., Sec.1, Banxiao, Taipei County 台北縣板橋市中山路1段161號 Tel: (02) 2960-3456) as part of his "Gackt Training Days Asia Tour." The name of this Japanese multi-talented entertainer's first concert in Taiwan - "Drug Party" - has caused quite a commotion among young fans who became familiar with Gackt through music, film, video games, and even fashion - elevating publicity of the event well before tickets started selling. To show his appreciation to his Asian fans outside of Japan, Gackt has promised the Taipei show to be just like his performances in Japan, with extraordinary stage equipment and effects typical of popular Japanese icons. Tickets, priced NT$1,000 - NT$2,800, are available through the ERA ticketing system.
Saturday Night Fever, one of the most popular and enduring musicals in the world, will be staged March 22 - 27 at the Taipei International Convention Center. Featuring smash hits by the Bee Gees, the musical is based on the film of the same title in 1977 that critics throughout time have said "changed the way we danced forever" in a plot that attempts to reflect the uncontrollable desire of all young people to escape a boring life and seek a more adventurous one. The main character, Tony, is urged to choose between Stephanie, a girl he loves and who works in Manhattan that symbolizes his dream of escape, and Annette, the girl who deeply loves him. The show, combining some of Britain's most talented young singers, dancers and musicians, a live orchestra, and sensational choreography, has won raging reviews since its London premiere in 1998 and has been touring the world since. Taiwan's audience won't want to miss the live stage performance of one of the world's seventies-set disco classics. Tickets, priced NT$800 - NT$4,800, are available through ERA ticketing.
NSO Forever Tales - Classic Zoo NSO 永遠的童話 - 經典動物園 will be performed by the National Symphony Orchestra March 31 - April 1 at the National Concert Hall. Following The Pied Piper and Secrets in the Woods in 2004 and 2005, the NSO will stage another concert in its Forever Tales series. This time, the theme is animals, and the pieces to be performed are Peter and the Wolf 《彼得與狼》and Le Carnaval des Animaux 《動物狂歡節.Tickets, priced NT$400 - NT$1,000, are available through the NTCH ticketing system.
ABBAFEVER, a show paying tribute to one of the most legendary pop groups of all time, will be performing in Taipei from March 10-11 at the Taipei International Convention Center 台北國際會議中心 (No.1 Xinyi Rd. Sec.5, Taipei台北市信義路五段1號). It is the ultimate 70s show to see, featuring performers bearing resemblances to the original singers of ABBA - Agnetha, Frida, Bjorn and Benny, who formed the most successful popular music group ever to come out of Scandinavia. Tickets, priced from NT$800 - NT$4500, are available through the ERA ticketing system.
Ronan Keating will be staging a concert on March 11 at the National Taiwan University Sportscenter 台大綜合體育館 (No.1 Roosevelt Rd. Sec.4, Taipei 台北市羅斯福路四段一號 Tel: (02)8369-5656). The 29-year-old from the British pop group "Boyzone" has won many hearts of female fans from across the world - in Asia especially - clocking up a total of 14 top 10 singles, as well as three No.1 albums after his previous success with Boyzone. His fourth studio album Bring You Home was released on June 5, 2006 and entered the UK album charts at number three. It reached the top ten in several other territories across the world. Tickets, priced from NT$1,300 to NT$5,000 are available through the ERA ticketing system.
Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band 龐秋‧聖騎士 will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the National Concert Hall 國家音樂廳 (No. 21-1 Chungshan South Rd., Taipei 台北市中山南路21-1號; Tel: 02-3393-9999) on March 13. Poncho Sanchez is a Latin jazz artist, salsa singer, band leader and conguero (conga player). Tickets that are still available range from NT$1,200 to NT4,200 through the NTCH ticketing system.
