Red Bull unveils new FB3 race car

Red Bull unveiled its new FB3 Formula One race car on Friday.
Former McLaren designer Adrian Newey _ who joined Red Bull in November 2005 _ and the Red Bull team believe the RB3 should put Red Bull on the podium more often after a seventh-place showing in its sophomore season in 2006.
"Undoubtedly some aspects of RB3 are 'McLarenesque' and are to some extent a development of the work I was doing when I was there," Newey said. "In other areas, there are derivatives of what has been done here at Red Bull and, of course, there are some completely fresh ideas."
Newey and his team ditched thoughts of improving the RB2 and designed a whole new car. The RB3 features a Renault engine rather than the Ferrari V8 used the past two years.
Australia's Mark Webber, who signed from Williams in July, gave the car its first official lap on the 4.627-kilometer (2.875-mile) Circuit de Catalunya.
Webber joined David Coulthart, who is entering his 14th season in F1 and third with Red Bull since joining from McLaren, where he drove Newell-designed cars from 1996-2004.
The former Williams driver finished third at the Monaco Grand Prix in June for Red Bull's sole podium place in two years of F1 racing.
The 2007 season begins with the Australian G.P. in Melbourne on March 18.
