Chicago ends Dallas winning streak in NBA

Ben Gordon scored 30 points, Luol Deng added 21 and the Chicago Bulls snapped the Dallas Mavericks' eight-game winning streak with a 96-85 victory in the NBA on Thursday.
Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 28 points and 11 rebounds.
After nearly blowing an early 17-point lead, the Bulls pulled away late in the fourth quarter.
Nowitzki's 3 closed Chicago's lead to 79-76 with 4:31 left.
P.J. Brown followed with a basket for Chicago and Kirk Hinrich followed with a 3, making it 84-76. Erick Dampier's dunk for Dallas cut the lead to 86-81, but Brown answered for Chicago by going around Nowitzki for a basket and hitting a jumper to put Chicago up 90-81 with 1:16 left.
Brown scored of six of his 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Clippers 102, Nets 101
At Los Angeles, Cuttino Mobley made a 3-pointer with 0.6 left on the clock, sending the hard-luck Nets to their third straight one-point loss.
Elton Brand and reserve forward Corey Maggette each scored 18 points, helping Los Angeles (21-21) climb back to the .500 mark for the first time since Dec. 11. Sam Cassell added 15 points and 10 assists.
Vince Carter scored 33 points for the Nets, who had won nine of 11 prior to this three-game skid. They were beaten Monday at Sacramento on a jumper by Mike Bibby with 10.3 seconds remaining, then were nipped at the buzzer on a 17-footer by Golden State's Monta Ellis on Wednesday.
