Bolivia striker Arce thrilled with successful debut for Brazil's Corinthians

Bolivia striker Juan Carlos Arce made an impact despite playing only 15 minutes in his debut with four-time national champion Corinthians.
Arce, signed in December from Bolivia's Oriente Petrolero, came off the bench to score Corinthians' final goal in the 4-1 win over Juventus in the Sao Paulo state championship on Wednesday.
"I'm very happy to be able to debut with a goal for a team so traditional as Corinthians," the 21-year-old forward said. "I had the support from the coach and my teammates, that helped a lot."
Arce, who entered the match in the 75th minute, scored from inside the six-yard line in the 90th after a left-flank cross from midfielder Magrao.
"It was only his first game," Corinthians coach Emerson Leao said. "He has a lot more to show."
The striker was a regular in Bolivia's youth squads and was called up for the main squad several times, including in South America's World Cup qualifying tournament, the 2004 Copa America and the pre-Olympic qualifying tournament.
Arce stayed a couple of months with second-division Brazilian club Portuguesa in the beginning of last year, but failed to reach an agreement to extend his contract.
Corinthians, the 2005 Brazilian champions, has won three consecutive matches to begin the season.
