Former NBC Treasurer Charged With Theft

The former treasurer of NBC Universal was arrested Thursday on charges that he stole more than $800,000 from the company, using some of it for private flights to the Caribbean.
According to a federal indictment, Victor Jung stole the money by transferring it into the accounts of an unauthorized company that he set up, NBCU Media Productions LLC.
Jung, 34, used some of the stolen money on private flights to Miami, Antigua and the Turks and Caicos Islands, U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia said in a news release.
Jung, who oversaw NBC Universal's collection efforts and bank accounts, was charged with two counts of wire fraud. If convicted, Jung could face a maximum of 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000 or twice the gain resulting from the crime.
Jung was to make an initial court appearance on Thursday. It was not immediately clear who would represent him.
A message left with a woman who answered the phone at Jung's home was not immediately returned.
In a news release, NBC Universal said it discovered the possible "integrity breach" and alerted authorities. The company said it is cooperating with investigators.
