Levante has signed former Spain striker Salva Ballesta on loan from Malaga for the rest of the season.
Levante is struggling in 17th place in the 20-team Spanish league at the halfway stage of the season. The promoted team recently replaced coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro with Abel Resino.
Salva, who has made three international appearances, was the Spanish league's top scorer in the 1999-2000 season with 27 goals for Racing Santander.
The 31-year-old, has also played for Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Bolton, has scored 12 goals for second-division Malaga this season.
