Russia offers to build 4 more nuclear plants in India

India and Russia on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding to have Russia build four new nuclear reactors in India.
The understanding was inked by the heads of the Russian and Indian nuclear agencies after a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The understanding laid out plans to build the four plants, but did not outline a timetable or other specifics.
Russia is currently helping India build two 1,000-megawatt nuclear reactors in the southern town of Kudankulam.
