Gillespie admits to violent conduct charge, faces six-game ban

Sheffield United winger Keith Gillespie is likely to be banned for as long as six games after admitting to a charge of violent conduct.
Gillespie had been on the field for only 15 seconds as a substitute on Saturday when he elbowed Reading's Stephen Hunt in the face. After he was shown the red card, the Northern Ireland international also appeared to strike the Reading forward.
Reading won 3-1.
Gillespie admitted to the Football Association charge Wednesday. With a three-game suspension already expected for the red card, he is likely to get a further three matches for the disciplinary charge when the FA discusses the case Tuesday.
That means he could miss games against Fulham, Blackburn, Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton and Chelsea between Jan. 30 and March 17.
Gillespie has also requested a transfer, but since the transfer window ends Jan. 31, a long suspension would deter potential buyers.
