Taiwan Air Force to conduct landings and takeoffs on highway

The upcoming military exercises will see the Air Force simulate Chinese attacks

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan’s Air Force will be conducting an emergency landing/takeoff exercise on a highway strip in Huatan Township (花壇戰備道) in Changhua County on May 28, closing the highway to the public on three occasions.

According to the Liberty Times’ report, the highway sections designated for the military exercises are located between the Changhua Interchange (彰化交流道) and the Yuanlin Interchange (員林交流道).

The highway police will impose traffic controls from 10:00 p.m. on May 26 to 6:00 a.m. the next day on the southbound lanes, from 10:00 p.m. on May 27 to 12:00 p.m. the next day on both southbound and northbound lanes, and from 10:00 p.m. on May 28 to 6:00 a.m. the next day on the southbound lanes, according to the Liberty Times.
