WASHINGTON (AP) — Michael Cohen's lawyer says federal prosecutors have rebuffed last-ditch requests to meet before President Donald Trump's former attorney reports to prison Monday.

Attorney Lanny Davis told The Associated Press Friday that Cohen's legal team asked prosecutors in March for a chance to discuss reducing his three-year prison sentence based on his cooperation.

They didn't get that meeting.

Davis says it is unfair Cohen was the only one charged in a scandal involving hush money payments to two women who threatened to speak up about alleged affairs with Trump.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan declined to comment.
