TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The 7th edition of the Asian Art Biennial, "The Strangers from Beyond the Mountain and the Sea," will take place at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts from October 5.

It is co-curated by Taiwan artists Hus, Chia-Wei (許家維) and Ho, Tzu-Nyen (何子彥) from Singapore. The exhibition will feature 30 groups of international and Taiwanese artists.

It will showcase their creations, which focus on the history, politics, and economy of Asia. They will present cross-disciplinary works that include installations, videos, paintings and more.

The exhibition’s title of "stranger" was inspired by an ancient Japanese work, "marebito," which describes beings that come from far away and show up with gifts. This idea is embodied by the colonist, foreign businessman, and the smuggler.

The first lineup for the exhibition includes artists from German, Iraq, Israel, Thailand, India and more. For more information, please visit the offiicial website.
