TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Led by the French representative to Taiwan, Benoit Guidee, a delegation consisting of 14 French firms met with Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦) on Tuesday (April 16) in hopes of exploring business opportunities and bilateral cooperation in the city.
As a livable city, Taoyuan offers an ideal environment for both enterprises and employees with its transportation and logistics infrastructure, as well as well-constructed residential complexes, said Cheng. He encourages foreign investment in the city and looks forward to having further exchanges with French companies.
“France is an ideal role model” for Taoyuan City when it comes to smart city development, circular economy, and rail development, added Cheng.
Guidee mentioned that this is the first time he led a French delegation of such scale to visit one city in Taiwan, and that he hopes this visit will pave the way for fostering ties between France and Taoyuan City.
During the meeting, a number of French business representatives agreed that Taoyuan City has a lot to offer when it comes to investment opportunities, and they are eager to explore possibilities of collaboration with the city, according to the city government.
