TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Snow-white Tung flowers are blooming at the Nanhua Forest Park (南華林業園區) in Ji'an Township (吉安鄉), Hualien County, and the park is inviting locals and passersby to enjoy the beautiful flowers in bloom during the short window of opportunity before the end of April, the Forestry Bureau said on April 11.

The Nanhua Forest Park, which belongs to Hualien Forest District Office’s Nanhua Station, has an area of seven hectares. The park used to be a log storage yard, but its role in the logging industry faded away as the logging operation ended in 1987.

The park went through renovation and greenification in 2004. Now there are dense trees in the park, along with log splitters, other machines, an ecology pond, outdoor classrooms, and walking paths along the forest.

The address of the Nanhua Forest Park is: No. 117, Section 6, Ji'an Road, Ji'an Township, Hualien County. The opening hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, please call 03-8527526#210.
