Taoyuan Calla Lily Festival set to impress in April

More than 60,000 colorful calla lilies and 20,000 lilies have been planted for the Taiwan festival

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The 2019 Taoyuan Calla Lily Festival will take place April 4-21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Taoyuan’s Department of Tourism said on Tuesday (March 26).

This year's festival will be bigger than ever. More than 60,000 colorful calla lilies and 20,000 lilies have been planted over a 5-hectare garden, the department said.

A variety of themed activities have been arranged throughout the festival period, including: A parade at 10 a.m. on April 4, a wedding dress show at 2 p.m. on April 5, a dance and band performance at 2 p.m. on April 6, a concert at 1 p.m. on April 13, and a matchmaking party at 2 p.m. on April 20. There will also be opportunities to experience farming activities.

The festival venue is located at the intersection of Shengde North Road (聖德北路) and Tianxi Road (田溪路) in Dayuan District (大園區).

A free shuttle bus service will be provided at the No. 11 platform of the bus hub, at Exit 5 of Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station.
