TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The 2019 Yuguang Island Art Festival (漁光島藝術節) will kick off on March 30 and run through April 21, featuring 10 stunning beach art installations in Anping, Tainan.

These works of art are created by seven domestic and international artist teams, according to event organizer, Urban Art Studio.

Songstress LaLa will perform on the Crescent Bay during the event’s opening in the afternoon of March 30, the organizer said.

The theme of this year’s art festival, "Island New Paradise,” was introduced in reference to the former Qiu Mao Park (秋茂園), which was located on Yukuang Island, according to the organizer.

Currently, installation of all art works on the Crescent Bay has been completed, attracting early visitors to take photos.

Traffic controls will be implemented on weekends and the Tomb-Sweeping Day holiday April 4-7 from 9:40 a.m. to 7 p.m. All vehicles except scooters, local residents’ vehicles, and official vehicles will not be permitted to enter the island.

Visitors can park their vehicles along adjacent roadsides and parking lots, and then walk to Anyi Parking Lot (安億停車場) or Eternal Golden Castle (億載金城) to take free shuttle buses to the island.
