Penghu Tourism Department Director Chen Mei-ling (陳美齡) on Sunday led a delegation across the sea to Xiamen for the first time, CNA reported, adding that they are on a mission to promote Pengu’s annual firework festival, now in its 17th year.

Chen said that the festival will feature 22 sessions of firework displays at the Magong Guanyinting (觀音亭) Recreation Area from April 18 to June 27, with one session every Monday and Thursday night, and one on the night of May 12 (Friday), according to the news outlet .

In addition to the firework displays, there will be new additions to the festival’s repertoire this year, including a show involving 100 drones, artificial water curtains, and a creative lantern area at the venue, CNA reported.
