TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A continental cold mass will arrive in Taiwan on Wednesday (Mar. 6) to bring cold and wet weather to Taiwan for three days, with low temperatures forecast to dip down to 12 degrees Celsius, Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said on Sunday.
CWB forecaster Lee Meng-shuan (李孟軒) said that the passage of a cold front most affected Taiwan on Sunday, the last day of the 228 Peace Memorial Day holiday, bringing cool temperatures and rains to northern and northeastern Taiwan.
Lee said the moisture content will gradually decrease on Monday, but another continental cold air mass will arrive in Taiwan on Wednesday, along with moisture from southern China, once again bringing cold, wet weather all over Taiwan before the coming weekend.
Meteorologist Daniel Wu (吳德榮) said that temperatures in low-lying areas in northern Taiwan will dip to as low as 12 and 13 degrees on Thursday night and Friday morning as a result of the coming cold front and continental cold air mass moving south through Taiwan.
