BERLIN (AP) — Denis Zakaria scored late to salvage a 1-1 draw for Borussia Moenchengladbach at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, a result that keeps both sides' European hopes intact.
Zakaria, who missed the best chance of the first half when he failed to beat Frankfurt 'keeper Kevin Trapp on a one-on-one, atoned in the 82nd minute when he turned to evade Makoto Hasebe and fired high inside the left post.
Danny da Costa had scored against the run of play for Frankfurt in first-half injury time.
Gladbach substitute Josip Drmic missed a good chance to win it with the last kick of the game, but he failed to connect with Oscar Wendt's cross cleanly and the ball rebounded harmlessly wide.
Gladbach stayed third, two points ahead of Leipzig, while Frankfurt was sixth in the last place for Europa League qualification, one point behind Wolfsburg and one ahead of Hoffenheim.
Bayer Leverkusen was hosting Fortuna Duesseldorf later Sunday.
