TAIPEI (Taiwan News) - A total of 22 new computer games have won nominations for the Indie Game Awards to be presented later this month at the Taipei Game Show.
In order to promote more independent games, the January 24-28 show will feature a commercial “Indie Game Festa” area for the first two days and an “Indie House” for the players from January 26 to 28.
A total of 115 new games from 13 countries competed in the first phase of the awards, ending with 22 games making it to the final stage. The contenders for the top hail from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Malaysia, Spain and the United States, reports said.
Members of the jury for the fifth edition of the Indie Game Awards include prominent publishers, game developers and media experts.
Awards will be handed out in eight categories, best narration, best audio, best design, best visual art, best innovation, best VR game, best mobile games and the Indie Game Award Grand Prix.
The winners will be announced on January 24 at the Indie Salon inside the Taipei Game Show.
