TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A newly completed boardwalk that goes along a natural coastal wetland on the north side of Shuang-Chun Coastal Recreational Area (雙春濱海遊憩區) in Tainan City’s Beimen District (北門區) is expected to become a popular tourist attraction, Central News Agency (CNA) reported on Wednesday.
Shuang-Chun Coastal Recreational Area is located between the Bajhang River (八掌溪) and Jishuei River (急水溪). The report quoted Lin Shi-qun (林士群), an official with Tainan City’s Bureau of Tourism, as saying that the natural wetland and mangrove forests along the new boardwalk are highly-attractive ecological tourism resources,.
He said that the agency had spent nearly one year planning and building the 750-meter boardwalk and relaxing pavilions, adding that the landscape of the surrounding trees and their reflections in the forest pools has attracted many newlyweds to arrive and take wedding photos, CNA reported.
Lin also encouraged visitors to the coastal recreational area and the boardwalk to also visit nearby attractions such as Nankunshen Daitian Temple(南鯤鯓代天府), Beimen Crystal Church (水晶教堂), Beimen Qian Lai Ye Grocery Store (錢來也雜貨店), and Jing Zhai Jiao Tile Paved Salt Fields(井仔腳瓦盤鹽田).
