TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- After Kaohsiung Mayor Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) promised to bring Disneyland to the city, netizens on social media joked that he had been true to his word when they discovered a KTV club had borrowed the copyrighted name, however, due to unwanted attention from the media and police, the club took the sign down on Dec. 19.

A netizen posted images of the club on the Facebook group Kato Army on Dec. 19 writing "Wife, I'd like to take the children to Disney." The post showed the club's usage of the Chinese version of "Disney" (迪士妮) with its signage and even the English name "Disney" on the front entrance, with buxom hostesses dressed in red lingerie on the inside.

The post soon gained 31,000 likes, 7,900 comments, and 6,603 shares on Facebook. Netizens on the popular Taiwanese online forum PTT then also started joking about the club and Han's pledge: "I just saw it on FB, General Han really did keep his promise, Kaohsiung really has 'Disney.'"

On its Facebook page, the KTV club, which is called "Disney Boutique Club" (迪士妮精品會館), also posted images of voluptuous hostesses scantily clad as Disney princesses such as Snow White, Elsa, Jasmine, and Sleeping Beauty. However, as word about the club's use hostesses wearing Disney-themed outfits spread, it also gained attention of police, who dispatched officers to inspect the premises two days after their ads went viral, reported Mirror Media.

When the owner of the gentleman's club received the news of the police inspection, he ordered the sign be taken down on Dec. 19 and announced the club's temporary closure. However, according to the report, the club is actually still open, but the owner has not chosen to rename it until the "limelight dies down a bit."

After the sign was taken down, many netizens complained that they had missed out on their chance to visit the adult version of Disneyland:

"I hadn't gone yet, and they already tore it down."

"Too late, quick, change the name to Hollywood."

"Sure enough, the water meter was checked."

"Just when it was about to become popular, it gets torn down."
