2018 Art Weaving Festival showcases multidisciplinary artists' works inside the old Miaoli train station. Additionally, in collaboration with Fenko Catalysis Chamber and Suho paper museum, the exhibition applies paper to represent the texture of weaving.
The exhibition focuses on displaying the 3 domains of tradition weaving skills in Miaoli City, which includes bamboo and straw weaving. During every weekend, there will be 3 workshops and talks with free entry.
The workshops invite artists to use different materials to teach weaving skills. For instance, artist Lin Zi-fen (林資芬) will use a plastic bag to make a snowman, or studio A.M IDEAS will use traditional skills to produce a butterfly pin.
