TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A model who sometimes helps her mother sell fish at a traditional market in Changhua County is dubbed "Taiwan’s most beautiful and hottest fishmonger” by international media and has become an overnight internet celebrity after photos of her handling fish were posted on a popular Facebook fan page by a Facebook user.
The Facebook user recently visited the market and was surprised to see Liu Pengpeng, a 26-year-old model, handling fish for customers. He took photos and posted them online along with the caption, “Ma, in the future, I will always help you buy fish,” the New York Post reported on Dec. 13, quoting a Dec. 5 report by Taiwanese outlet Apple Daily. The Facebook user described Liu as a young beauty with a ponytail and speaking fluent Taiwanese.
Between modeling gigs, Liu helps her mother out at her family’s seafood stall at Shetou Market in Chunghua County, and according to the New York Post report, “their stall has since been packed with admirers hoping Pengpeng will handle their fish orders.”
One Facebook user commented on Liu’s Facebook page immediately after the photos went viral, saying, “Tomorrow the fish market could be as crowded as during Chinese New Year Eve.”
“Thank you for all your support!” Liu wrote later on her Facebook page. She also said in a later Facebook post that she had been overwhelmed by modeling work invitations, explaining that as a workaholic, her work schedule had been very tight before her photos went viral, and so it was not because of the publicity she had got from the reports.
The many international media outlets that have also covered the story include MailOnline and Fox News.
