TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The annual Gongguan Christmas Month will kick off this Saturday (Dec. 1), featuring a variety of events and illuminations in one of Taipei’s most boisterous commercial districts.
Taipei Water Park (台北自來水園區), Road Castle (洛德城堡), and Guanguan Waterfront Plaza (水岸廣場) will be dotted with Christmas decorations and floral landscaping installations throughout December, according to the Taipei Water Department.
With a touch of technology, visitors will be able to take a picture with the much-loved mascot of Taipei – Bravo the Bear – against a backdrop of Christmas motifs through AR technologies at the Taipei Water Park. Individuals who upload a photo with Bravo onto the Facebook page of the event between Dec. 1 and 22 will be eligible to enter a raffle promising a water-themed EasyCard and vouchers.
Recreational facilities in the area, including Pipe Live Music House and Road Castle, will add excitement to the month-long event to woo youngsters, featuring a Ferris Wheel and a carousel, cultural merchandise outdoor fairs, street artist performances, live concerts, and candy giveaway sessions by Santa Claus.
Opening hours of Taipei Water Park will be extended to 8 pm every Friday to Sunday in December. Concession admission tickets will be available after 4 pm, allowing visitors to relish in the luminous facilities at night.
