TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The inaugural Taipei Fashion Week will showcase the best of Taiwan’s Spring/Summer collections, at the Taiwan Traditional Theater Center from Dec. 6 to Dec. 9.

"2018 Taipei Fashion Week SS19" will include eight walkway shows, four themed fashion showcases, 60 cultural exhibitions, and six international forums.

The four themed fashion showcases will feature over 60 designers and reflect Taiwan’s indigenous and Hakka cultures, as well as draw inspiration from local performing arts, and recent innovations in fabrics and materials, according to the Ministry of Culture.

The catwalk is inspired by Taiwan’s natural beauty with scenes depicting mountains, rivers, and the sea set to feature heavily.

The recently-opened Taiwan Traditional Theater Center will be incorporated into the event, with its facilities used to showcase a “museum of Taiwan fashion” displaying 120 fashion sets.

The full list of fashion brands and guests to the event will be announced on Nov. 30.

The event is jointly organized by five government agencies alongside six industry associations.
