Palestinian refugees in Jordan hold prayers and a rally to honor Saddam Hussein

Some 400 Palestinian refugees held prayers for the dead Sunday and a rally in memory of executed former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.
Demonstrators from the Palestinian Fatah movement and members of a coalition of Jordanian Islamic and leftist parties rallied at Baqaa camp, expressing their anger over the hanging of the deposed Iraqi leader.
"We sacrifice our blood and soul for you, Saddam," "You remain dear to us," shouted the protesters, who also carried portraits of the deceased president as they marched at the camp located on the outskirts of Amman, Jordan's capital.
Both groups issued statements describing Saddam as a "martyr who was killed by the Americans and their allies in the Iraqi government."
The rally ended peacefully with a second prayer.
Meanwhile, supporters of Saddam and members of Jordanian professional associations gave condolences at a three-day wake at the Jordanian offices of the Baath party _ the deceased leader's political organization which was officially dissolved after the fall of his regime in April 2003.
