George Michael charged with being unfit to drive in October incident, police say

Singer George Michael has been charged with being unfit to drive after he was found passed out inside his car in October, police said Saturday.
Police arrested Michael Oct. 2 after responding to complaints that a car was blocking an intersection in north London. He received a caution for possession of marijuana and was released on bail on a charge of being unfit to drive.
The singer will appear before a court on Jan. 11, Metropolitan Police said. They did not say why the decision to file charges took more than two months.
Michael first rose to fame in the 1980s as half of the duo Wham! before starting his solo career.
Police had earlier warned Michael for possession of marijuana in February.
In April, he hit three parked cars. He later acknowledged in an interview that he was a "terrible driver" and said he was trying to maneuver out of a parking spot.
