Motherwell secures 1-1 draw with Celtic with injury-time equalizer

Darren Smith scored in injury time to earn Motherwell a 1-1 draw with Celtic on Saturday, slowing the champions' charge to a second straight Scottish Premier League title.
Already 15 points ahead atop the standings, Celtic appeared on course to at least maintain that lead when Derek Riordan marked his first league start for the club with a goal in the 36th minute at Fir Park.
The goal maintained Celtic's record of being the only team to have scored in every league game this season.
But Motherwell forced Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc to make a series of standout saves before Smith leveled.
Celtic midfielder Thomas Gravesen had hit the post when the home side created pressure at the other end and Scott McDonald punished a poor pass by Paul Telfer by setting up the chance for Smith to force the ball home.
The game kicked off ahead of the rest of Saturday's schedule: Dundee United vs. Aberdeen; Falkirk vs. Inverness; Hibernian vs. Dunfermline; Kilmarnock vs. Hearts; Rangers vs. St. Mirren.
