TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The organizer of Taipei International Travel Fair (ITF), which is hailed as Taiwan’s largest travel fair, moves the venue of this year’s upcoming fair from TWTC exhibition halls in Xinyi District to the more spacious Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center for the first in the event’s history, in order to accommodate more exhibitors, according to a news release posted by event organizer Taiwan Visitors Association (TVA) on the event’s official website in October.
This year’s ITF will take place at the 1st floor and 4th floor of Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 from Nov. 23 to Nov. 26. The exhibitors of this year's fair will come from 60 countries and areas around the world, and will occupy a total of 1,700 booths, the TVA said.
The first floor showground is classified as the “General Tourism Zone,” while the fourth floor is the “B&B, Hotel & Restaurant Zone,” according to the organizer’s showground classification.
The fair was first held at Songshan Airport’s exhibition hall in 1987. Since then, the numbers of exhibitors and visitors have increased every year, with last year’s event having attracted a total of 360,000 visitors, the organizer said. ITF has become the most visited travel fair in Asia and the largest of its kind in Taiwan, according to the TVA.
The move of the venue to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center will not only provide exhibitors more spacious booths, but will also enable visitors a more comfortable visiting experience, the organizer said.
Admission to the fair is NT$200 for adults and NT$150 for senior visitors aged 65 or older, handicapped visitors, and children with height between 120 – 150 cm, the organizer said, adding that the price of adult tickets sold from the ticketing systems of Taiwan's four main convenient store chains is only NT$180.
