TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The warm sun and cool breeze in the fall season foretell the best time of the year to appreciate chrysanthemum flowers and the coming of the 2018 CKS Shilin Residence Chrysanthemum Show.

The show will take place from Nov. 30 to Dec. 16 at former President Chiang Kai-shek’s Shilin residence.

Taipei City’s Parks and Street Lights Office (TPSLO) said that this year’s chrysanthemum show will feature an intercontinental theme.

TPSLO’s Horticulture Management Division chief Ho Chi-hua (賀綺華) said that the horticulture hall (園藝館) beside the western garden of the residence has been turned into a dining hall this month, and offers the Chiang family’s menu, including the CKS Lion's Head Pork Meatballs meal set, Soong Mei-ling afternoon tea, garden waffle, and other dishes.

The purpose of offering these dishes is to recreate a historic atmosphere and enable visitors to experience the Chiang family’s time at the residence, Ho said. At the same time, the dining hall also provides cheongsam rental services so that visitors can savor their meals or make a tour of the residence while wearing a charming cheongsam.
