The Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of Interior today launched "Taiwan's National Parks," a new publication, at the 1st floor atrium of the CPA building. The new pictorial together with its videos and English website promote Taiwan as an island with great natural beauty.
The first Chinese-English publication on Taiwan landscapes, "Taiwan's National Parks" also seeks to spread the concept of nature conservation.
Taiwan, once called "Formosa," has unique geographic and ecological resources. In 1982, the Ministry of Interior established six national parks: Kenting, Yushan, Yangmingshan, Taroko, Sheipa and Kinmen. Tung-sha atoll is about to be completed and will be the 7th national park. The parks were established to conserve Taiwan's forests, wild life and historical artifacts.
