First lady to be discharged within two weeks

First lady Wu Shu-chen, who has been hospitalized after attending a court hearing on December 15, may be discharged from National Taiwan University Hospital in two weeks, according to NTUH Superintendent Lin Fang-yue Friday.
Lin made the revelation while attending a public function at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital's Linkou branch.
Lin related Wu's condition has improved significantly and may be discharged from the hospital within two weeks. Wu, paralyzed from waist down because of a car accident in 1985, has suffered from hypertension, low body temperature and dizzy spells.
She nearly collapsed 90 minutes after attending a court hearing on embezzlement and forgery charges against her and three presidential aides.
Lin said Wu's spinal injury tends to cause sudden drop in the first lady's blood pressure and the cold weather contributed to her dizzy spells while she was hospitalized.
