Four-time Brazilian champion Vasco da Gama plans to sign Dario Conca from River Plate for the 2007 season.
The Argentine midfielder will sign a contract if he completes a routine medical test next week.
"He's a player with great international experience," Vasco coach Paulo Angioni said Thursday on Radio Brasil. "He'll bring maturity to the Vasco squad, and Vasco fans can be sure the team will have a better year than in 2006."
Vasco drew 0-0 with Figueirense in the final game of the season to miss out on qualifying for the 2007 Copa Libertadores by one point.
Conca was a standout in the 2005 Copa Sulamericana for Chile's Univesidade Catolica. He has also played for Argentina's Rosario Central.
