Former Indian movie star Madhuri Dixit says she misses acting

Former Bollywood leading lady Madhuri Dixit has said she missed being in front of the camera as the Indian actress prepared to start shooting her comeback film, a newspaper reported Thursday.
"What I missed was being in front of the camera and assuming various characters," Dixit told the Times of India newspaper in an interview published Thursday. "Yeah I missed that, I'm glad to have it back."
"I don't miss the adulation or the glamor, though it is good to know people still miss me," said the actress who stopped working to raise her two children.
Dixit said shooting for the film would begin in January and likely be finished in three months. The film is to be produced by veteran Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra and directed by Anil Mehta.
Dixit, who was one of India's most sought-after stars, stopped acting after marrying a U.S.-based Indian surgeon in 1999.
Her last hit movie, released in 2002, was "Devdas," in which she played a courtesan in a saga of doomed love.
India's prolific Hindi-language film industry is based in Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay.
