Malaysian shares rise on window-dressing activities

Malaysian shares climbed Wednesday as year-end window-dressing by local institutional funds bolstered sentiment.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index of 100 blue chips added 0.5 percent to 1,083.22 points.
Traders said local funds bought key stocks to push prices higher so they could close their books on a better note by the end of the year.
Among key gainers, PPB Oil Palms gained 3 percent to 10.40 ringgit, while telecommunications company Telekom Malaysia advanced 1 percent to 9.85 ringgit.
