PSV Eindhoven draws 1-1 at Feyenoord in Dutch league

PSV Eindhoven was held to a 1-1 draw at Feyenoord in the Dutch league on Tuesday to snap an 11-game winning streak.
PSV leads the league with 50 points, 10 ahead of second-place AZ Alkmaar. Ajax is third with 38 and Feyenoord is next with 36.
Later Tuesday, Willem II hosted Excelsior Rotterdam and Sparta Rotterdam was at FC Groningen.
PSV captain Phillip Cocu curled a 25-meter shot past Feyenoord goalkeeper Henk Timmer in the 24th minute to score first.
Angelos Charisteas, who scored the winner for Greece in the 2004 European Championship final, headed the equalizer from a free kick by Royston Drenthe in the 38th.
"I thought we played better in the first half and we could have made it 2-0," PSV coach Ronald Koeman said. "Then the referee gave some questionable free kicks, and out of one of those the equalizer fell and it turned into a real match."
Koeman said that Feyenoord, coached by his brother Erwin Koeman, was better in the second half.
"It's not really possible to say one side deserved to win," he said. "I figure if you're going to drop points, you could do so against worse teams than Feyenoord."
Charisteas' goal was the first that PSV goalkeeper Gomes had conceded in 10 games.
"We played a fine game today and we have to be satisfied with this point," Erwin Koeman said.
Gomes did stop a close-range shot from Feyenoord defender Jan Kromkamp with a reflex save.
"It's difficult to score against us, it's true, the way we're playing right now," Gomes said.
PSV striker Patrick Kluivert, playing in his second match after a long-term knee injury, replaced Jefferson Farfan for the final 20 minutes, but failed to create any scoring chances.
