Jaw Shaw-kong becomes new boss of BCC

Ex-president of UFO Radio Jaw Shaw-kong is the new boss of Broadcasting Corporation of China, which was confirmed on Tuesday by Wang Ching-hai, general manger of Kuomintang's Central Investment Holding Company, who sold the BCC to Jaw last Friday. However, Wang did not confirm a Liberty Times report that said BCC was sold at a price between NT$600 million and NT$700 million, citing confidential business information.

According to the Liberty Times report, the news that the Kuomintang-run Hua Hsia Investment Holdin Company had sold the transaction to Jaw on December 22 was also confirmed by Jaw on Monday. The report also said that there had been different opinions within the company about Jaw's bossing the company, with some arguing that BCC would become even “bluer, ”referring to a more staunch stance against the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, which they said would be unfavorable to the radio station's journalistic professionalism.
